The doors of Colchester’s five public schools

principals took the opportunity last week during
the Colchester School Board’s final meeting
before the school year commences to preview
what’s new for 2011-2012.
A close shave for CHS principal
Colchester High School principal Amy Minor
noted the preseason arrival of the Lakers football
team earlier this month and said the first bit of
education of the new school year revolved around
sports-related concussions.
Players and parents
associated with the football team watched a
video about concussions and “second impact
syndrome,” which can happen when a player reenters a game too soon after an initial blow to the
head.
