ansfield’s Gregory Yates fired a
7-under 65 in the final round at
Southern Oaks GC to rally from
seven shots back to win the Elbit Systems of
America Classic.
The 54-hole event was
played June 22-25 and featured 143 boys and
girls ages 12-18 from 13 states, Mexico, Canada and New Zealand.
Yates started the final day at even-par 144 and seven shots behind
36-hole leader Alejandro Villasana of Mexico, but birdied four of
the first five holes on the par-72, 7,154-yard layout.
