The amount of foot traffic increases in the summer because children are
out of school and more people walk in the warm weather.
Summer also
means an increase in the number of joggers and bicyclists on the street.
That can mean an increase in the number of people hit and injured or
killed by bad drivers.
Every summer communities struggle to protect the pedestrians,
bicyclists, joggers and others from speeders.
There simply are not
enough officers to catch all the speeders and watch all the places where
pedestrians cross or walk on the streets.
