Scottish Catholic Education Service SCOTTISH CATHOLIC EDUCATION SERVICE Summer 2012 In the fabulous setting of Glasgow’s Clyde Auditorium, the inaugural Pope Benedict XVI Caritas Award ceremony was held on the afternoon of Saturday 2nd June 2012 in front of a capacity audience of 3,000. Cardinal O’Brien, Archbishop Conti and Bishop Devine were among the guests of honour who lined up to pay tribute to the 446 young people who were the very first to receive this award. They were most impressed by moving accounts of the faith-inspired learning, reflection and witness which these young people had shown throughout their Caritas year.
