The moat of Saint-Martin A large number of houses were formerly grouped at the gate of the city; some have since been cut down to create a more airy location. The substantive elements form a sampling of the local urban architecture: The half-timbered house at n°3 Devins street was built at the end of the 16th century. The corbelling of the first floor is supported by five beams whose struts are decorated with sculpted motifs. The top plate under the cornice has five ends corresponding to those of the first floor, from which moulded brackets emerge. At n°8 Alphonse Texier street, the house with the turret hiding a spiral staircase is a 17th century construction, with the addition of the south wing in the 18th century. The houses at n°3 and n°4 on the Résistance square are dated respectively from 1630 and the second half of the 16th century.
