DESCRIPTION: We are going put some ice into a cup with water and blue colorant.
MATERIALS: A cup or a glass, a spoon, water, colorant and ice cubes.
HYPOTHESIS: (students'hypothesis vary): The icecubes are going to melt. The water is going
ice cubes are going to turn blue. The level of the water is going to increase. The water is
going to become clearer.
OBSERVATIONS:
After 2 minutes: The ice cubes are starting to melt.
After4 minutes: The water is starting to look clearer. The ice cubes are melting. The water
is getting colder.
After 6 minutes: The outside of the cup is covered with little drops of water. The cup looks
frozen.
After looking at all of the obsevations, the most noticeable and intrigating fact the
students observed was that there was water outside the cup.
