Before doing any operation, open the R4 DS package, and check it clearly.
It should contain below accessories:
1 X R4 3DS flashcard.
1 X Memory Card (2GB, 4GB or 8GB)
1 X USB reader / writer
Step 2.
Setup R4 3DS card
To make R4 3DS card work, you have to install the kernel and games into the MicroSD card.
1.
Download the latest R4 3DS kernel to computer, it is a zipped patch.
2.
Unzip the patch, you can get 4 files: "moonmemo", "moonshl2", "R4iMenu and "r4.
dat".

3.
Connect the MicroSD card to the computer through the USB reader.
4.
Copy all the 4 files to the root directory of the MicroSD card.
