April 10, 2025 Leadership message At the recent CCASA Gathering in Panama, one of the key moments was the presentation of our Critical Concerns, our ministries, and the work of the CCASA commissions, in particular, the Prophetic Voice and Anti-Racism Commissions. We reaffirmed that our works of Mercy are works of justice. We returned to our countries energized and filled with hope. However, in the past two months, we have been deeply saddened when we see the great challenges we will have to face in the future with the U.S. government's implementation of inhumane and even authoritarian immigration policies. Undoubtedly, uncertainty, danger, persecution, fear and frustration have become a reality for our people. The most powerful country in the world targets the most vulnerable groups of our Latin American and Caribbean countries.
