Children who attend YWCA early childhood
programs, including the three child development
centers and the YWCA’s Ready For School
Initiative, are learning to read with the help of their
parents, teachers and KERA.
KERA’s first book family
literacy project, Read With
Me, is part of the curriculum
at YWCA centers and in the
child care centers that take
part in the YWCA-run
Ready for School Initiative.
KERA works with child care
providers, school districts
and community organizations
to distribute books to young
children and provide early
literacy workshops for
parents and caregivers.
