Bas gets nod as NSW senate candidate
With an election date of August 21
confirmedbyPrimeMinisterJuliaGillard,
GLBTI voters will be shopping around for
the candidates most sympathetic to their
wantsandaspirations.
Candidates who are openly gay will be
ofmajorinteresttocommunitymembers,
and one such candidate is policeman and
ACON board member Wes Bas who has
been selected the NSW candidate for the
SenatorOnlineParty(SOL).
Bas told Sydney Star Observer he was
excited by the opportunity and looking
forwardtothecampaign.
“It’s a bit surreal going from full time
employment with the police to now,
running as a candidate for the Federal
Election,” he said.
“I’m very excited but
obviously there will be a lot of work ahead
formeinthenextfiveweeks.
”
