man’s
plea for
equality
Sincefindingouthispartnerhadterminalcancer
twoyearsago,Mitchell,27,haswrittenmorethan
200 letters to local, state and federal politicians
pleadingfortherighttomarry.
So far the office of every politician he has
written to has responded but one - Prime
MinisterJuliaGillard.
Mitchell’s first letter to Gillard was sent in
November 2010.
A follow up was sent in July this
yearandathirdlettersentthismonth,buttodate
all have gone unacknowledged by the Prime
Minister’soffice.
