Cine Migratorio film festival is a project organized by many people.
Some of us are Auxiliares,
some of us are Fulbright grantees.
Some of us have lived in Cantabria for many years, some of
us have just gotten here.
Many of us are from the United States, but some of us come from
Germany, Morocco, Holland, Senegal, Ukraine and Paraguay.
Together we design different
ways to collect and tell stories of migration.
The project is best described as an ever-evolving collaboration.
It began in a class of teenagers
who had just arrived in Spain.
I, their teacher, asked them to practice “who, what, where, why,
how” questions.
Where are you from? Why are you in Spain? Why did you move here? How do
you like Spanish food? Stories began to tumble out.
