Special offerings taken at this year’s
Annual Conference session will be collected for the Central Conference Pension
Initiative and for sponsorship for our
ordinands on a tour of the Holy Land.
The pension offering will be taken
Sunday night during the Memorial
Service held at the Ponchartrain Center in
Kenner.
The Louisiana Conference is
joining the General Church in assisting
with this vitally important initiative.
Funds raised will help support the pension program for clergy in conferences
outside the United States.
Many of these
clergy have little or no resources available for retirement.
An investment of at
least $20 million in gifts and pledges is
needed to establish pension programs
across the Central Conferences.
