Mystery surrounds Tesco’s ambitions in
Sandiacre.
The company put in planning
permission for a large footprint store and
then withdrew it just before it came to the
Planning Committee.
Now they have direct mailed about four thousand
residents in and around Sandiacre with a leaftlet
showing the store in situ.
Some residents called
the Chronicle office to ask when Tesco had
received their planning permission as they thought
it was a done deal.
Not everyone is happy with
the thought of a superstore in the town claiming it
will kill off many of the smaller shops.
Tesco told the Chronicle it had received lots of
feedback from local residents about their
previous proposals.
They had listened carefully to
these comments and will now submit revised
plans that, if approved, could create up to 200
new jobs.
The changes include:
