It is transmitted through very close contact with the skin of an infected person. Various symptoms may appear, such as spots or scabs on the face or genitals, fever, and painful swollen lymph nodes. PREVENTION AND VACCINATION The Mpox virus particularly affects men who have sex with men, individuals with multiple sexual partners, transgender people, and sex workers. The vaccine has been available for 2 years. It is safe and effective. It reduces the risk of becoming ill, but does not replace the isolation and contact reduction measures that need to be put in place in the event of suspected or confirmed contamination. If you belong to one of these groups, make sure you are vaccinated and, if needed, complete your protection as soon as possible.
