Deck Drain Installation Instructions PLANNING The deck drain uses two foot sections that snap together. For the easiest installation, design the deck width using an even number. Sections can be cut to length; however, the end cap only attaches to un-cut deck drain sections. INSTRUCTIONS 1. Excavate a trench for the channels. The trench must be large enough to assure enough concrete is under and around the deck drain to prevent damage due to ground movement and thermal expansion. 2. Fully assemble the deck drains as they are placed into the trench. Connect each section by ensuring the two clips and male/female bottom tab are properly in place and secure. Once assembled, use rebar and the slide-on rebar clips to set the correct elevation and slope of the channel drain. The deck and deck drain should have a slope of at least 1/8 inch and not greater than ½ inch, and should be built in accordance with local building code.
