AUGUST 2021, ISSUE 68 FREE EVACUATION BOMB HOAX MAN CHARGED AFTER CLUB THREAT A Hemel Hempstead resident has been charged after sending a hoax bomb threat to a London nightclub. David Rodgers, 37, of Figtree Hill, Hemel, was charged with communicating a bomb hoax on Monday, July 26. On Friday, July 23, at 9.14pm, police received a report of a possible suspicious item at a nightclub in Villiers Street, WC2. Specialist officers carried out an evacuation of London’s famous Heaven nightclub and cordoned off the area as they carried out a thorough search. Nothing suspicious was found and the report was deemed to be a hoax. The incident was not treated as terrorism. Rodgers appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, July 27.
