The Portuguese Group for Structural Concrete – GPBE is the Portuguese member of the Fédération Internationale du Béton – fib and its main activity is the promotion of technical and scientific cooperation
in the field of Structural Concrete, both at national and international level.
GPBE resulted, in 1998, from the former Portuguese Group for Prestressing, founded in 1966, and reproduced, at national level, the international evolution verified with
the creation of the Fédération Internationale du Béton – fib by merging the two former international associations in this field: the Fédération Internationale de la Précontrainte – FIP and the Comité Euro-International du
Béton – CEB. Such transformation extended the scope of GPBE’s activity to Structural Concrete.
