The school has always had the problem of the search for a compromise between the metaphorization, i.e. the simplification of the phenomena and events to facilitate learning, and the real world that appears complex and varied. Based international organizations, especially the European Union, have, in different ways, encouraged the school to change their teaching strategies aiming the acquisition of valuable skills in the workplace and Italy, in particular, welcomed, with many national projects, this invitation.
