Immigration Detention Centers affect Children Mentally and Physically
Thousands of refugees walk through the doors of immigration detention centers every year
- many of them children. With a slight idea of what to expect and a traumatic anxiety of moving to
a different country, children refugees don’t deserve to be put in a place where they don’t feel
welcome or safe. However, statistics show vast results of negative effects of children behind held
in immigration detention centers. Children are who are going to shape the world of tomorrow,
therefore it is right that they should be treated with the utmost extensive care. Refugee children
show signs of negative physical and mental symptoms of being held in immigration detention
centers.
