Confused
Iberian ham is probably the most famous and special product of
Spanish gastronomy. But the law hasn’t been very strong in this matter
until some time ago. Nowadays, the rules that govern all the things that
have to do with traditional hams are getting much more restrictive and
have established four labels that have to be clear and precise.
In fact, there still are some labels that many distributors use and generate
some confusion. In this article we will tell you these wrong labels and
the right ones.
Labels that could confuse you
These are some labels that could confuse you when you buy this type of
ham. It doesn’t mean that they are bad hams: they could be good, but the
point is that they don’t explain precisely what kind of pig the meat
comes from, where those pigs have been raised or how the
manufacturing process was.
