The basic idea for my work is to
create flower-pot system which
could be seen as green facades
and also be as shadow wall from
bright sun of Kenya, but still
maintaining enough light for flats
inside.
So having something in a
chaotic city with the high density
of population, could easily find
flower-pots cramped and
displayed for local people to have
place to rest. This interesting
custom could forms the amused
character of Nairobi village over a
long period of time and Nairobi
people could love their life with a
large variety of tropical plants and
flowers in their balconies,
courtyards and streets.
The biggest problem here is to
maintain connecting corridors, which
have a great impact to for my ability as
architect to create shape of building
and also I have to note that they
produces shadows which is very
welcome in Kenya. So I have to keep
balance between wanted shape of the
building and ability to create shadows
for better household.
