HIV Emergency Treatment Fund Fact Sheet The HIV Emergency Treatment Fund is funded by the Queensland Department of Health and managed by Queensland Positive People (QPP). The fund aims to provide emergency funding for all PLHIV residing in Queensland (including Medicare ineligible PLHIV) who are experiencing financial hardship to support early and ongoing engagement in HIV related treatment and services after avenues of immediate short-term support are explored. Support from the fund is not intended to be recurrent (i.e. recurring payments for monthly medications) as detailed in the Emergency Treatment Fund Guidelines. What does the fund pay for? The Emergency Treatment Fund is available to provide short-term assistance with the following: Medicare Ineligible Individuals: HIV clinical care including - Clinical consultations x 2 are available consultation fees and pathology - HIV pathology tests for baseline viral load and CD4 counts and follow up. testing Medication Costs - Emergency t
