How to Install an Electric Lock
An electronic lock offers great security and can be used in conjunction with other systems. As
suggested by the name, an electric lock is triggered by an electrical process. Unlike the manual
lock, there is no need to physically go to the gate and use a key as the latch is moved
automatically. This can be done by pressing a button which will then release electricity and
unlock the door. It can also be operated remotely.
You can integrate it with an intercom or a door opener to allow you to give someone on the
outside access. You can also combine it with an electric motor so as to trigger a gate from afar.
In the event of a power outage, you should also be able to open it using a conventional key, and
be sure to test it to ensure that it works properly. You can install a battery or generator to remove
the risk of this happening.
It is advisable to install electronic locks on gates or gateways for added security. The trigger
