Opelika Chamber of Commerce to Host Alabama Superintendent of Education
at Business Over Breakfast
OPELIKA, AL – ( January 18, 2012) Dr. Tommy Bice, the newly appointed Alabama
Superintendent of Education will be the featured speaker at the next Business over
Breakfast sponsored by East Alabama Medical Center on Wednesday, January 25,
beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Saugahatchee Country Club.
Dr. Tommy Bice was appointed Alabama’s State Superintendent of Education on
November 10, 2011, and assumed the position on January 1, 2012. Prior to his
appointment, Dr. Bice was Alabama’s Deputy State Superintendent of Education for
Instructional Services; Superintendent of the Alexander City School System, high school
principal, career tech director, alternative school teacher/director, special
