ABSTRACT: In his approach to work Marx does it considering both its
general and particular aspects.
In the general, positive interpretation, Marx
conceives work as a free and conscient activity avoiding an apology of work
rewarded by wage; on the other hand he exams it considering its particular,
negative interpretation as a harmful compulsory activity without indistinctly
denying the work itself.
For this reason, it is important to center attention
upon the fact that Marx distinguishes and closely relates useful, concret
(positive) work, as a goal to human development, as mediator between man
and nature and between man an other man, “live work” that renders value of
use (usable product), mandatory to production and human reproduction, as
compared to abstract (negative) work, “dead work”, “past work”, found within
goods, its real aim to produce surplus value, supervalorization of val
