Vivint Discloses Goals for 2013
Bloomberg Businessweek reports Vivint’s goal
of becoming the no.
1 installer of consumer
rooftop solar systems across the U.
S.
in 2013.
Following Vivint’s $2 billion trading with
Blackstone Group LP (BX), the company which
has been the leader in home automation and
security alarms is strategizing to install panels
atop at least 10,000 homes next year.
This
number is on top of the 1,500 panels already
installed this year.
’The company provides security and power
management services to almost 700,000 customers in the U.
S.
and Canada, creating a readymade customer base,“ says the company’s Founder and Executive Todd Pedersen.
The homes of
these 700,000 existing clients are already connected to Vivint’s network and photovoltatic panels
are easy add-on features.
The set-up is that Vivint owns the power systems and homeowners pay
the company a monthly fee for the electricity.
