Post Traumatic Stress - a term that we continue to hear more and more since the
start of the war in 2003, but what is it? How does it effect us and most
importantly, how can we recognize it in ourselves or our loved ones?
PTSD, as it is most commonly termed, is a cognitive anxiety disorder closely
related to those who have undergone, experienced, or witnessed extreme and
traumatic situations that, in the end, alter their perception and their life.
We
see this manifested in children who come from dysfunctional and abusive homes,
accident survivors, and among others, our very own men and women in the
military.
In this article you will get to know Sergeant Steve Gibson and learn

SSgt Steve Gibson USAF was born and raised in Southeast Alaska and relocated to
Washington State in 1998.
He served in the United States Air Force as a fighter
jet mechanic on the F-16.
