Even if you can’t tell an airball from a bowling ball, you had to be impressed by the visuals from the
Friday night basketball game between North Carolina and Michigan State played on the deck of the
USS Carl Vinson in San Diego.
The gorgeous sunset, the still waters of San Diego Bay and the twinkling city lights far off in the
distance all helped turn a pretty mundane early-season game into something special.
With that in
mind, what are other locations that might work for the next outdoor game (and given the success of
Friday’s “Carrier Classic” and the recent NHL stadium events, you can bet your flat-screen TV that
there will be more hoops games in the fresh air)?
