But when they rushed upon her, she tossed the quilt out the window, and a great gust of
wind carried it up, up and away.
The king left with his nose in the air.
“Why won’t that Quiltmaker give one of her quilts
to me?” asked the king to his favorite teddy bear, Freddy.
Then, the king had a great idea.
He was so proud; he stoodup as tall as Mount Everest.
“Servants! Go grab my telephone!” he ordered.
Once he got the phone, He quickly dialed in the Quiltmaker’s phone number.
“Hello my
good woman!” said the king, trying to be as nice as the Quiltmaker.
“Please come for tea at my
house! But just in case, you should bring one of your quilts because it will be verrryyy cold at
my precious palace”
“Sure thing!” replied the Quiltmaker.
When the Quiltmaker arrived the next day, she brought her scarf and a ragged and brown
