Anyone who has ever
played golf knows how
hard it is to stay in the
zone once you finally find
it…and Stanford had certainly found it at the end
of last year.
After eight years of
toiling on the LPGA Tour
and many years removed
from a junior career that
saw her win four Fort
Worth City Junior titles
and going on to a college
career at TCU, Stanford
came into her own last
year with two victories,
10 top 10 finishes in 27
starts and $1.
35 million in
earnings.
That followed a
good year in 2007, when
she posted 12 top 10 finishes in 24 starts.
With two consecutive
strong seasons on her
resume, the Saginaw resident is now much more
than a blip on the
women’s golf radar.
She
is No.
8 in the world, and climbing.
With three victories in her last seven starts, in fact, she is now
the hottest player on the LPGA tour.
