Like the 156 contestants from around the
world had to earn their chance to play for a
national championship, Carlton Woods’ owners and members earned the chance to host a
national championship.
this month’s Junior Amateur is just the
continuation of a long and ongoing effort by Carlton Woods to
bring one of golf’s major championships to texas—perhaps even
bringing the U.s. Open back to texas for the first time since it
was played at Champions Golf Club in 1967.
since before the luxurious private club in the Woodlands
opened its doors in 2001, attracting major national tournaments
has been a top priority for the Carlton Woods. It’s in the club’s
