Reading an excerpt from An-Nawai’s forty Hadiths we see that the Islamic religion does not so much concern
itself with any kind of moral or ethical code, but rather it is a religion that defines Allah’s all powerful will for man as
well as mans lack of any control over Allah’s will.
In this particular excerpt the angel Gabriel confirms Mohammad’s
understanding of the fundamentals of Islamic faith.
First and foremost one must recognize Allah as the one and only
true god.
While it is necessary to try and understand Allah’s ways you must realize that “while you see Him not yet
truly he sees you”.
Furthermore it is explained that when an angel breathes life into each man his destiny is
written down.
He is given before birth his Job, his lifespan, all the actions he will make during his life, and
even whether or not he is a happy person.
This belief in a preordained destiny is important as it makes
ethical behavior Irrelevant.
