But it can have many faces….Week of April 7, 2014
We have to occupy those we serve. This is a requirement in assisted living and especially in adult day
care. Of course the ‘one size fits all’ approach does not
work since people bring different interests, backgrounds,
abilities and levels of alertness.
I have fond memories of watching Mr. Howard (pictured at
top left) paint in my program and then we would display
his work to his daily delight. Because Mr. Howard was a
bit of a loner and often lacked awareness of his
surroundings, his attention to his artwork kept him fulfilled
and occupied.
