The Companies Act 2006 (the Act) received Royal Assent on 8 November 2006. When fully implemented on 1 October 2009, the Act will be the primary source of company law governing both private and public companies in the UK. We have previously reported on all of the key changes introduced by the Act. The purpose of this document is to summarise the key changes to company law effective from January 2007, April 2007 and the four key implementation dates of 1 October 2007, 6 April 2008, 1 October 2008 and 1 October 2009.
