Developing and implementing health promotion strategies to extend healthy lifespan FURTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE STUDY FOR YOUR RECORDS [version 2, 28 t h April 2026] Ethical approval reference number: 34216 What is this research? Australians are living longer, but quality of life for those years can be poor due to ill health and frailty. Research in other ageing societies, like Japan, suggests that health prediction methods could help older people with healthy ageing. Health predic tion can be done using the results of common, non-invasive health tests, such as how long it takes you to get out of a chair, or testing how firmly you can grip something. We want to do community healthy ageing checks for older adults and find out which tests relate to physical, mental and social frailty. For some people, we want to see if blood samples make health prediction more accurate. We will repeat the checks one year later to see how things change over time.
