Owner of P. Terry’s Burger Stand
In the midst of an ever-changing city, one man strives to maintain originality and simplicity. Patrick Terry is
a self-proclaimed creature of habit. He begins his day by stopping at the Lamar location of P. Terry’s for
the usual: coffee and banana bread. He knows this routine well; he performs it seven days a week.
But his days did not always begin with the comfort of banana bread. Terry and his wife donned the official
P. Terry’s white uniforms right alongside employees from 7 a.m. to midnight during the first 2 and a half
years of the store’s opening. The beginning set the tone and helped launch the business that has six Austin locations with two more opening in 2013. While having always dreamed of opening his own burger
stand, Terry took the plunge in 2005 after reading a critique of the industry, “Fast Food Nation.” Unable to
