Conflicting Opinions and The Founding of America
In the early 1990s, the intelligent design movement began, “speaking out against
evolution as an explanation for all of life as we know it, saying the complexity of living
things simply cannot be attributed to biological chance.

Adamant evolution theory
supporters were quick with rebuttals, arguing that “intelligent design is but a gloss on
creationism, a belief that…the US Supreme Court…ruled [could not] be taught in public
schools.
”2
The issue deepens when the question as to what ought to be taught in schools
arises.
Claims regarding the need for a strict separation of church and state have come to
light, as has the questioning of the evolutionary theory as the all-encompassing final answer
to original biology, and the chasm between both camps doesn t seem to be receding.
