I be lieve the opening scene to this film conveys a mixture of thrilling fear for the audience as it starts at a glance of a disequilibrium. The scene arises with multiple shots of tragedies that occur world wide, which seem to be pre viewed on a television screen. We see places around the world in disruption and havoc, where the world is at war with each other. As the scene progresses we are shown one main monkey, which contrasts massively to the starting shots of the world at war. We can see that he is wired up to each TV and forced to watch them. At first this sparks sympathy in the audience, as an animal that is usually considered to be calm and the most similar to humans is being tortured.
