Part 1-Cape fear opening titles The opening credits start with a shot of running water, the water is rippled, and makes us as viewers nervous as we don’t know what is beneath the surface. The opening credits start instantly with a strange white font. The font is Jaggered and intense, this conveys the emotion of the thriller. It’s important to take notice of the sharp musical sting we hear at the start of this thriller, this straight away makes viewers jump and sets the tone of the forth coming events in the rest of the thriller. We can hear the back music at this point is the sound of water as though it is running through a stream, this seems realistic to viewers as we are watching the water on the screen (diegetic sound) we then start to hear non-diegetic sound playing over the top, this is a sharp build-up of high pitch and low pitch sounds going back and forth to make viewers feel on ease and set the tone of the thriller.
