Representation of Age Young Males: The representation of young males varies depending on the genre. Justin Bieber is a young pop artist who is shown to be very caring for females in his videos which shows that as a young person he is very love orientated which is considered a juxtaposition for young males as they are commonly associated with being ‘players’. Electro-pop is our genre that we have chosen so it also links to pop music and therefore all males are still represented as ‘players’ e.g. Enrique Iglesias in ‘I like It’. Other young male artists that belong to the rap genre such as Future who sing about drugs, violence and prostitutes which highlights an anti-social subculture amongst young rappers. Another popular genre is house music, males in house music are shown as party goers through the use of clubs. This is displayed through high key lighting which promotes a positive atmosphere.
