Since the Climate Summit in December 2015, 177 countries have already signed the Paris agreement and 16 of these have gone on to fully ratify it. The French and Moroccan presidencies of the COP are actively pursuing their efforts so that the countries responsible for at least 55% of greenhouse gas emissions ratify it by 2020. In parallel to this, the Lima-Paris Action Agenda (LPAA), which highlights the commitments made by non-state actors since COP21, currently lists over 70 initiatives bringing together 10,000 collaborators across 180 countries. ADEME is bringing its expertise to a number of these initiatives. The aim is to support innovation, accelerate companies' involvement in the low carbon economy, promote sustainable buildings on a large scale and support local authorities in the global South in terms of planning and urban mobility.
