London Eye The London Eye is the new simbol of London, built to celebrate the new Millenium : it’a a gigantic wheel, 135 metres high, which offers the most exciting view of the city. Designed by the architects Julie Barfield and David Marks, in the full respect of the natural elements (air-water-earth-fire) , it completes a rotation of 360 degrees in about 30 minutes, accommodating in its 32 pods (cabine) more than 800 curios spectators. It is the largest steel wheel (ruota d’acciaio) in the world. The Eye is on the Embarkment of the river Thames, just opposite the Houses of Parliament. The British Airways (the owners of the Eye) will perhaps open « Eyes » in other European capitals.
