April 9, 1912 Tomorrow is the day I will board the RMS Titanic! Although I have loved it here in Norway, with all of my friends and family, it is time to return to America. I will return to my livestock farm in Perkins County, South Dakota. I am leaving with 5 other people, Adolf Humblen, Anna Salkjelsvik, My cousin Peter, My brother in-law Sigurd Moen, and my dear friend’s daughter named Karen Marie Abelseth. My friend asked me to watch over her seeing as she is only sixteen years of age. I will be boarding the ship in Southampton. I am to be on G-deck and share a room with Humblen. Even though I am only in third-class, I have no doubt that the Titanic will be the grandest and most luxurious ship I have ever been on. I am looking forward to being on the Titanic’s maiden voyage . -Olaus Jorgensen Abelseth
