About the words
The animals in this collection have been chosen for how common the terms are and how they have come up while teaching my students. There are loads and loads of other animals I’d love to include here, there are incredible numbers and
varieties of animals in the world. I’ve tried to include some insects and sea creatures here. If the set eventually grows
larger, I might separate it into smaller groups like fish and seagoing creatures or farm animals etc.
Who is this sheet for?
These cards are for any students who want to talk about the fuzzy, sometimes creepy crawly creatures all around us. I’ve
used them with students to lighten up our regular conversations by adding one or two images into an activity. I’ve also
used them to talk about endangered species like the tiger and gorilla and used the Dodo bird as an example of an extinct
species.
