The availability of Tungsten Carbide blanks in various forms
Tungsten carbide is well known for its toughness with the basic product consisting of fine
tungsten carbide particles having the features of hard and abrasion resistant constituent
bonded with tough, comparatively soft, metallic cobalt. Tungsten carbide can be
supplemented or substituted with other hard constituents such as the carbides or nitrides of
other refractory metal, such as titanium, chromium, vanadium, molybdenum or harnium
independently or in combination. The cobalt can also be alloyed with or substituted by
nickel, nickel-molybdenum or similar metallic elements. Tungsten carbide blanks
therefore retains the same characteristics or features of tungsten carbide.
Drawing dies with tungsten carbide blanks inside are cost effective solution for a variety
of wire processing applications. Carbide dies are being used quite successfully and in a
regular manner for a wide variety of wire processing applications. Carbide die
