My visit to England to attend my dear sister’s funeral was saddening. I am eager
to go home into the waiting arms of my dear husband Edward. My other two sisters came
along with me. They will be coming with me on the Titanic, the ship that we will be sailing
home on. I honestly thought that my deceased sister would outlive me, for she is not much older
than me and I am only 53. The air is very polluted here; I can hardly wait to sail home to New
York City. We are traveling in first class. Yet, I am very worried about seasickness, for my
stomach cannot seem to tolerate the sea. I wonder how many books Edward has printed by
now. Our ticket says we will stay in cabin C-101. I hope it is comfortable and spacious, as I
need space to put on my silk gowns. There is so much lace on them that the skirts are huge. Of
course, my gowns will be the most beautiful on the ship. At this time of day, father is probably
in his office writing orders of dry goods to merchants. He needs somet
