What is Social Enterprise?
Social enterprises are businesses established to tackle a social or
environmental need. Profits from social enterprises are
reinvested to sustain and further the mission for positive and
long-lasting change. They replace charity and break the cycle of
poverty by employment-based solutions.
The Beginning of Re-Invention
Kellie Guthrie had a vision of a world without poverty,
unemployment or wastefulness. Although Guthrie has always
been passionate about the well-being of others, a trip to
Bangkok where she witnessed human trafficking drove her to
take action. In 2007, Guthrie founded Re-Invention in hopes of
creating social enterprise and in turn a better world.
