Learning Style-Centered Reading Assessments
After completing each level-appropriate book, students will select two of the following options
for assessing what they know about the story.
Each option represents a different learning style in
order to reach each child’s interests and abilities and I ask that they choose two options in order
to broaden their learning potential.
• Linguistic – Using a classroom blog, students will write a summary on the book they read
including their favorite or least favorite part and an explanation of why they did or did
not like that part.
• Logical-Mathematical – Using a classroom blog, students will take a problem that
occurred in their story and write about what they might have done to solve the problem or
what they might have done differently to solve the problem.
• Spatial – Using Fancy Pages on a classroom iPad, students will create a digital poster
page depicting their favorite part of the story in vivid detail.
