It is hard to believe that we find ourselves only a few weeks away from
Advent, and Christmas is just around the corner.
As you are aware, starting
with the first Sunday of Advent, we will begin using the Revised Roman
Missal for the celebration of the Mass.
I hope you are taking advantage of
the bulletin inserts that are being offered each week as we prepare for this
change.
These are great resources to educate ourselves on the reasoning
for the changes to the responses and prayers that will occur starting
November 27th.
I do want to stress that the structure of the Mass is NOT
changing; rather, this is a new translation of the Roman Missal, Third Edition,
originally written in Latin.
The Vatican is requiring that all liturgical
translations be done literally thus maintaining the sentence structure and the imagery from the Latin.
To help us adjust to these changes, we will be placing prayer cards in the pews that will highlight the changes
to the
